MZI untouched by India.com's downsizing plans
(Business Standard, Mumbai, April 15, 2001)

Multiple Zones India (MZI) the direct-to-customer IT enterprise, currently clocking monthly revenue of Rs 7 crore, will remain unaffected by India.com's announcementof downsizing its portal domain business.

MZI a 100 percent subsidiary of mail.com, which was earlier integrated with India.com, will now function as a separate entity under Mail.com, continuing its three core business areas: IT product sales, IT services and ASP.

"The company's main focus will continue to remain e-commerce, with MZI now offering a state-of-the-art procurement engine to facilitate buying by corporates through the company's e-staore," said Manpreet Singh, managing Director, MZI.

The company has large corporates as its clients and these companies order computers and other IT products through MZI through The PCZone the company's flagship catalogue, and through the company's online store pczoneindia.com.

MZI the only revenue generator for mail.com, has notched up sales of Rs 20 crore of IT products and services in the last two months of January and February. It is expected to close this quarter with sales of Rs 28 crore. In this quarter, MZI has also launched its procurement engine on the ASP model and is expected to close a couple of contracts in the next two months.
