PROCESS

At the start of the review period, the supervisor and employee meet to:

  • Review job description.
  • Identify skills and performance attributes that are critical for the job profile.
  • Establish individual performance objectives for the employee.

During the review period:

  • Supervisor & employee communicate formally and informally as needed.
  • Supervisor & employee review the progress on individual performance objectives.

At the end of the review period:

  • Employee evaluates his/her own job performance and provides a copy to the supervisor.
  • Supervisor gives an overall assessment of employee's performance.
  • Supervisor reviews the appraisal with employee and then both endorse it.
  • Both supervisor and employee retain the copy of the completed signed instrument.
  • Supervisor forwards the completed, signed form in original to HR for filing and processing.
